This page lists the official claims and new-policy numbers for South African funeral cover providers, and the main or 24-hour numbers for funeral parlours. Every number was checked against the company's own website on 30 September 2026, and each name links to our page on that provider with the source.
If someone has just died, call the insurer's claims line and, if you have chosen one, the parlour. You do not need to pay anyone to lodge a funeral claim.

Before you call: what to have ready
Have the policy number, or the main member's ID number, and the deceased's ID number with you. Most insurers also ask for the death certificate or the notice of death from Home Affairs, a copy of the claimant's ID and bank details for the payout. How to spot a fake claims line
Scammers post fake "claims numbers" on social media and ask families for an admin fee to release a payout. A real insurer never charges a fee to process a funeral claim, and never asks you to pay into a personal account. Where do I find the claims number for my funeral policy?

Do I have to pay to claim on a funeral policy?
No. Lodging a funeral claim is free. Anyone who asks for an admin or release fee is not acting for the insurer.
Can a funeral parlour lodge the claim for me?
Many parlours help families lodge the claim, and some policies pay the parlour directly if you sign a cession. Ask the parlour to show you the insurer's paperwork, and keep copies of everything you sign.
What if the number on this page does not work?
